Lual reveals targets after completing move to Czech side

After training with Czech Republican side MFK Vyskov for the first time, former Mathare United forward Dani Lual believes that he will settle in the second tier outfit within a short time and play a part in realizing promotion to the first division.

The lanky forward belatedly completed his move to the club on Wednesday after arriving in Prague the same day and joined his new teammates in training for the first time on Thursday.

The South Sudanese player sealed the move to Vyskov in August last year but lack of the necessary documents among them a visa and a lengthy delay in having his work permit ready saw him wait longer for the opportunity to ply his trade abroad. 

Despite being out of competitive football for a couple of months, the forward maintains that his goal-scoring instincts are still up there and will use them to help the club play top-flight football next season.

"I was well received by the Vyskov management, technical bench and the players. In spite of the harsh weather conditions and the jet lag, I didn't have time to rest as I wanted to train with the team which I did on Thursday. I am here to score goals and help the club gain promotion to the first division, " he said in a telephone interview.

Having finally made a move to Europe after a failed attempt in 2019, Lual thanked former South Sudan national team head coach Cyprian Ashu for the role he played in successfully knocking open the Vyskov door.

Lual set to join Czech Repulblic second tier side

Lual attended trials with Valencia's junior side back in 2019 but it is after failing to seal a permanent move to the Spanish giant's youth team that he joined Mathare United the following year.

The goal poacher who falls under the Dreamworld Entertainment and Sports Agency also thanked his uncle Andrew Kuol for holding his hand throughout his career.

"I thank God that I finally got an opportunity to chase my dream of conquering European football. Credit goes to my uncle Kuol for being there for me. He took me to Valencia and took care of everything until I signed for Mathare. I also thank our former national team head coach Ashu for the major role he played in getting me here, " he said.

Ashu has since been replaced by Stefano Cusin on the Bright Stars technical bench.
