Liverpool's turnaround in Wolverhampton directed by Salah

The Egyptian provided two assists in a 3-1 win
According to book records, Liverpool owns Wolverhampton. The Reds recorded six consecutive away wins against the Wolves before they managed to finally win at home last season 3-0. But, it turned out to be just a coincidence, as Jurgen Klopp’s men continued with a dominance at the Molineaux: Wolves – Liverpool 1-3. It was a game in which the home team should have a 3-0 lead by halftime, and the Reds should have ended the match 1-5 in the second half. Liverpool fell behind, only to totally turn the game around by the end of the match. They managed to do so for several reasons, and the most important one is the home team’s failure to use their chances.
200 - Mohamed Salah has been directly involved in 200 goals (139 goals, 61 assists) in 223 games for Liverpool in the Premier League, with only Thierry Henry reaching this milestone in fewer appearances for a single club in the competition (206 games for Arsenal). Wolves turned out in their best shape, like against Manchester United on the opening day, but after taking an early lead, the lack of quality upfront prevented them from scoring at least one more goal. Liverpool were too experienced and good not to punish that, and in the second half, they turned up the volume and won. Apart from Gakpo, Richardson and Elliott, who scored for the guests, Mohamed Salah was (again) among the team leaders. The Egyptian has registered seven assists in his last five away games now and added two more today. Only three other players in Premier League history have assisted in five successive away games – Muzzy Izzet in December 2003, Cesc Fabregas in January 2015 and Gerard Deulofeu in December 2015, and now Salah is among them.
Wolves started the game in a perfect way, with an early goal from Hwang in the 7th minute. The home team’s best player, Neto passed Matip and assisted his teammate for the opening goal. Wolves were a better team in the first half and created two more good chances, but they also had some dangerous attacks, which they failed to use. Cuhna badly reacted in front of Liverpool’s goal in the 34th minute, and the guests had one chance in injury time, but Szoboszlai’s shot was blocked.
In the second half, another story. Either because Jurgen Klopp yelled at his players or because he put in Luis Diaz instead of jet-legged McAlister, but the Reds were all over Wolves. The hosts for some reason, failed to produce the first-half display, and all those good chances they had but didn’t use came back to haunt them. Mohamed Salah had a perfect assist in the 55th minute, and the ball went through the legs of the goalkeeper and two defenders to reach Gakpo for 1-1. After that, it was only a matter of time before the second goal was scored, but the Reds left it late. Salah was there to assist again, this time to Robertson, who turned the game around before Bueno scored and own goal in injury time for the final result.
