Liverpool's Konate admits the connection with PSG: "If I'd say no, I'd be lying"

Liverpool centre-back Ibrahima Konate has said that he can imagine himself one day playing for Paris Saint-Germain.

Konate, 24, grew up in Paris with his older brothers - PSG fans. The French TV Canal Plus questioned the Reds defender whether he's ever imagined himself wearing the red and blue of PSG, to which he replied:

"If I said no, I'd be lying, but if you're asking, is it one of my objectives? Not at all."

Konate, who is under contract at Liverpool until 2026, is often questioned about a move to PSG and his international teammates are even attempting to persuade him of a move to the French capital.

"PSG has made sure to recruit players who understand each other well and who play with each other for the France national team. Even for the people and the Parisian fans, it makes them happy. It's what they've been waiting for for years, having Parisian players or at least French players in the team," said Konate.

He arrived on Merseyside in 2021 from RB Leipzig and has featured in 64 games since.
