Linton Maina clocks top speed in the Bundesliga

Pacey Kenyan midfielder Linton Maina clocked a top speed of 34.5 kilometers per hour for FC Koln in their clash against Hoffenheim in the German Bundesliga.

The 23-year-old was handed a start by Koln as they registered a 1-1 draw against Hoffenheim which extended their winless run to two.

The club’s official social media handles revealed that Maina cloaked the fastest seed in the game after reaching 34.5 kilometers per hour during one of his sprints.

“Weekly Linton Speed appreciation post. The fastest FC player presented by DHL Global,” read Koln’s Instagram post.

Maina is known for his burst of speed which he uses to devastating effect to beat his markers and whip in a cross or cut in field to unleash a shot.

That was not the only outstanding feat achieved by Maina in the game as he assisted Florian Kainz with a cross that was tapped home from close range.

Maina is slowly cementing his place in the first team after joining the club in the summer transfer window from second Bundesliga outfit Hannover 96.

The winger is eligible to play for Harambee Stars having never represented Germany at the senior level and is also born to a Kenyan father and a German mother.
