Yes, as awkward as it gets, but Oliver Provstgaard first made his name in the world of electronic games and then on the football pitch

When you are looking for a possible reinforcement of your team, it's essential you get all the necessary information about a player your scouts recommended you to sign, including his previous titles and accolades.

And it must have been quite amusing when Lazio president Claudio Lotito found out their latest transfer target, Oliver Provstgaard, won a title at the age of 17, but as an esports player!?

The Danish defender, 21, has a remarkable CV, embellished with an actual crown in the EAFC in 2021. While representing Vejle Boldklub's U19 side in 2020, Povstgaard suffered a severe knee injury, which kept him sidelined for eight long months. During that time, the promising centre-back decided to spend some of his free time playing the 2021 eChampions League.

He entered the qualifiers under the name OliverPN, and secured a spot in the elite competition by finishing in the top 32. Step by step, he reached the grand final, getting there undefeated. Provstgaard won a dramatic two-legged final 3-2 on aggregate, thus winning $75,000. After the triumph, he had to hang up his joystick and return to his football career.

Just like he did at esports, Provstgaard made a serious impact with Vejle on the actual pitch and soon became a household name in the Danish top division. Eventually, this earned him this move to the Serie A side, as he's about to make his name in European football.
