The Nigerian reportedly wants to stay at Galatasaray at least until the June transfer window, dismissing all the rumours claiming he's leaving in January

They were his last resort, but he's grown to like them and now does not want to leave! That's the story of Victor Osimhen and Galatasaray. When his moves to Chelsea and Saudi Arabia failed and sitting in the stands at Napoli threatened to ruin his entire season, the Turkish Super Lig side was there to give him refuge, and the 25-year-old apparently appreciates it and knows how to return the "favour."

Namely, according to German Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg, Osimhen is going nowhere, at least until June. And, at first glance, why should he? He's having a great season with the Turks, as his team tops the Turkish Super Lig table and sits in the third UEFA Europa League, while he noted eight goals and four assists in nine appearances.

Moreover, Plettenberg claims that Osimhen feels very welcome in Istanbul, adores his becoming a fan favourite, and has a fantastic relationship with his teammates. For all these reasons, the forward allegedly decided to stay in Turkey.

Now, Galatasaray's hopes that they could keep Osimhen permanently heated up, but there's one gigantic obstacle on their path towards securing his signature. The Nigerian is only on loan in Istanbul, while his contract ties him with Napoli, which will demand meeting his release clause worth €75 million. Since that amount is way too high for the Turks, it is more probable that we'll watch Osimhen in other colours next season, despite both his and the club's desire to extend their cooperation.
