The Spanish league allegedly found no evidence of Cadiz player's racial slur. However, their football federation will continue with the investigation
The Spanish La Liga have allegedly closed the investigation regarding the accusations of racial insults during the recent Valencia - Cadiz game, involving Cadiz player Juan Cala and the French midfielder of Guinean descent Mouctar Diakhaby. As per Spanish media, the thorough lip-reading report shows that Cala did insult Diakhaby but with no racial elements in it.
According to the Spanish radio Cope, they found expressions from Cala to Diakhaby such as "S***", "Leave me alone", and "Excuse me, don't be pissed off." On the other hand, Diakhaby claims that Cadiz defender did say "s****y black".
During the last few days, La Liga had commissioned specialized companies to clean up all the noise collected in the seven ambient microphones in the stadium last Sunday. They have done it to find the insult denounced by the Valencia footballer. But also, apparently, without success.
The league chairman Javier Tebas had acknowledged this Thursday that the expert opinion had been commissioned to read Cala's lips.
"We have commissioned a company to clean the sound and also read the lips because when Cala turns around, he says something. There will be a report that will say what Cala says and another report on everything that is being said. What is clear is that the voice that is circulating is not that of Juan Cala."
Hower, the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) will continue their investigation about the incident, with the aim of clarifying what happened in the 28th minute of that infamous Valencia - Cadiz tie last Sunday.
