Koulibaly's story tells you all you need to know about Sarri - he is the ultimate football freak

It's nice that you have a wife and a child on the way, but you are a footballer first and foremost! That is the reasoning of Italian crazy coach Maurizio Sarri. The current Lazio boss, who made his name coaching Napoli and Chelsea, is insanely dedicated to football, and he wants his players to follow suit. So much so that he made his defender Kalidou Koulibaly miss his son's birth!

Speaking to Onze Mondial, the Senegalese defensive rock said that he had some exciting coaches in his career, but nobody even comes close to the Smoking Man.

"I worked with many atypical coaches, great coaches, but the craziest was Maurizio Sarri. He was passionate about tactics, working so hard that at times in training we were doing exercises for 11 men against zero. The craziest thing he did was when my wife was about to give birth to our son. Sarri told me I did not have the right to leave the squad to be with my wife and child. He was a crazy man."

Even though he still respects Sarri's achievements, the 30-year-old centre-back still hasn't forgiven the coach for missing the birth of his boy.

That's the thing about football people - they will get criticised if they're not dedicated to the game, but also when they care a bit too much!
