Marjolen Nekesa joined the team recently, and made it to the starting 11 barely days later
Kenyan striker Marjolen Nekesa was off to a flying start in Belarus, scoring on her debut despite her new side FC Minsk being bundled out of the Belarus Women Super Cup by Dinamo BSU on Sunday.
Nekesa was thrown into the starting team just days after completing her move to the Belarusian side from USA, and went on to score the consolation in the 2-1 loss.
Anna Pilipenko and Tatsiana Markusheuskaya opened the scoring for Dinamo BSU in the ninth and 25th minute to go into the break with a two-goal cushion on the road.
Nekesa struck shortly after the hour mark to give FC Minsk bleak hopes of staging a comeback but it was never to be as Dinamo BSU held on to the one goal lead to the end.
Three Lady Eagles were named to the 2021 NAIA Women's Soccer All-American teams this afternoon.

The forward was among the Harambee Starlets players who were in camp last month preparing for the AFCON qualifier against Uganda before the same was cut short after CAF confirmed that Kenya had withdrawn from the qualifiers.
The 23 year-old was named the Most Valuable Player in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference last year and went on to appear in the All-America Third Team the same year while playing for Oklahoma Wesleyan.
