Enock Wanyama says Coach Okumbi understands his playing style well

Rising Stars midfielder Enock Wanyama says he is open to reuniting with Kenya U20 head coach Stanley Okumbi at Posta Rangers.

Wanyama was one of the star players for the Kenya U20 team during the CECAFA U20 championship held in Tanzania in 2020.

He was linked with a move to Slovakian side FK Pohronie in January but the move is yet to materialize. Asked if he would consider playing the FKF Premier League,Wanyama said he would fancy playing under coach Stanley Okumbi who doubles up as the national junior team coach.

“I do not really have a favourite team locally but I would love to play under coach Stanley Okumbi. I worked with him during the CECAFA U20 championship and I enjoyed it. He also understands me and supports my style of play,” Wanyama told Mozzart Sport.

The youngster also revealed that he is currently club-less and is training on his own as he waits to make a move.

“Currently I do not have a team. I am training individually to keep fit as I wait for my next move, “he added.

On what the future holds, Wanyama said everything is in the hands of his agent and he solely focused on remaining in shape.

“My agent is handling everything concerning the potential move to clubs. My duty is to remain fit and I train hard daily to ensure that I am ready anytime,” he concluded.

Wanyama is a South B United Sports Academy product.
