Wilson caught the eyes of many with his composure, deft passing, and comfort on the ball in the middle of the park while appearing for Sharks during the Elite Pre-season cup earlier in August
Kariobangi Sharks midfielder Stanley Wilson was spotted in national team colors as players hit Harambee Stars camp to prepare for the upcoming engagements.
In the September FIFA window, Kenya is set to face Qatar and South Sudan, with the match against the fellow East African country set for Nairobi.
The match against Qatar is slated for Thursday, September 7, at 6:15 p.m. EAT at the Al Janoub Stadium.
The youngster was not in the initial squad released by coach Engin Firat on Monday, but he was pictured alongside Gor Mahia's midfielder Austin Odhiambo.
Just like Wilson, Odhiambo had not been named in the provisional squad released on Monday but was included barely a day later.
The Sharks teenager has had a good start to life in the top tier, playing in the two rounds so far for the William Muluya-coached side.
His expressive nature with the ball against Tusker FC at Ruaraka Grounds on Saturday in a league match might have wooed the Turkish tactician, Firat, who was in attendance, leaving him wanting to see more of him in the national team's training.
Out of the ten local-based players in the provisional squad, nine reported to camp on Sunday, with Masud Juma and Duke Abuya also joining them. Kenneth Muguna is the only local-based player yet to report, but he is expected on Monday.
The team is set to depart for Qatar on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at 1 AM and jet back on Friday.
