The William Muluya coached team has expressed interest in the Kenya U17 attacker.

Former St. Anthony’s Boys Kitale winger Kennedy Mwendwa is likely to join FKF Premier League side, Kariobangi Sharks.

Mwendwa, a Kenya U17 player sat for his KCSE exams this year and attained a B- grade. He has since declared that he will be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science and it now appears that he will have to balance it with playing for the William Muluya coached team.

St. Anthony’s games teacher, Peter Mayoyo has disclosed that a number of teams within and outside the country including Kariobangi Sharks are interested in the speedy player who can play as a winger or a number 10.

There is interest in him from a number of teams locally and one in Belgium. But we think it will be prudent that he gets some club football locally before he goes outside the country Sharks has shown great interest in him and I think he may join them. Going pro without much competitive experience can be counter-productive,” Mayoyo told Mozzart Sport.

Mwendwa echoed Mayoyo’s sentiments but without giving many details admitted that there are local sides interested in his services.

It is true there is interest from some Kenyan teams and I think I may join one of them soon, I have not made any decision yet but I can confirm that several teams have reached out, I will make a decision soon,” he told Mozzart Sport.

At St. Anthony’s Mwendwa won the National U16 title in 2018 in Eldoret. In the same year, he bagged the Copa U16 African title in Nakuru. His last accolade was the 2019 U19 national title, the tournament was staged in Kisumu.
