The forward suffered the injury in Arba Minch's win over Addis Ababa Ketema.

Kenyan international Erick Kapaito was forced to play the final quarter of their Ethiopian Premier League match pitting his side Arba Minch Kenema and Addis Ababa Ketema in excruciating pain.

The former Kariobangi Sharks man was introduced in the 69th minute for Tekalign Dejene but was unfortunate to tear his hamstring muscles minutes later at a time when the technical bench had exhausted the options.

Despite clips showing the forward asking to be rested, the bench had other thoughts as they let him stay on the pitch and protect the slim 2-1 scoreline up to the full time.

Arba Minch who acquired the former FC Talanta forward last year alongside Bernard Ochieng who was earlier attached to Wazito had Tsegaye Abera to thank as his brace was enough to give them maximum points.

Abera struck first in the 24th minute and would seal the three points in the 62nd minute when he finished off Muna Bekele’s pass.

The visitors grabbed the consolation goal in the 57th minute through Richmond Adongo.

While Kapaito who is expected to be sidelined for a couple of weeks tasted some action, Ochieng who also has a host of Harambee Stars call ups under his belt watched the entire game from the bench.
