The German football legend has expressed his desire to become a Magpies member
German football icon Toni Kroos has suddenly set his sights on joining Premier League side Newcastle United — and it’s all thanks to their thrilling 3-2 clash with Liverpool. Despite the defeat, Kroos was left in awe of the Magpies’ display. Speaking on his podcast “Einfach mal Luppen” with his brother Felix Kroos, he joked: “I will register as a Newcastle member today.”
When pressed on whether he actually meant it, Kroos explained: "Sure, you can become a Newcastle member. You can do that in Germany too. Is it different there?"

The match itself was a rollercoaster. Newcastle fell behind 1-0 at halftime and were reduced to ten men just before the break. Liverpool extended their lead to 2-0 early in the second half, but the Magpies fought back to equalize at 2-2 near the end — only to concede a heartbreaking 3-2 in stoppage time.
Felix Kroos later shared a practical note on the podcast: "Here's the link for the Newcastle membership. You can click on it. If I see it correctly, it's 47 pounds for a premium membership." Toni replied: "Yes, I'll do it. I would. I have to submit it next week, right? And order a Dan Burn jersey. A real nasty bastard. 10 seconds before every corner and every throw-in, he's pushed everyone at least once." Felix chipped in: “Could you please order his jersey and post it next week?”
Kroos didn’t hold back about why Newcastle impressed him so much: "Yes, of course. I was 1000 percent impressed by what they did against Liverpool. I know Newcastle has a lot of tradition, but they're also a club that's now in Saudi Arabian hands and all that, but I don't care about any of that—just purely in terms of mentality."
Not everyone shares Kroos’ enthusiasm. Some fans have criticized his interest in a Saudi Arabian-owned club, especially given his past comments about young players moving to Saudi Arabia early in their careers for money. But Kroos seemed unfazed, captivated purely by Newcastle’s performance: "They really picked me up yesterday. In my post-match review, I read a quote from Jamie Carragher: He said that was probably one of the worst performances in history from a winning team and one of the best performances in history from a losing team. I agree."
