English club continues its remarkable run of results, both in the domestic league and in Europe. Today’s menu featured a routine 2-0 victory over Dynamo Kyiv, marking their first ever win in European competitions
A historic victory for Crystal Palace – this was the Premier League side’s very first win in European competition, serving as further proof of the fine form Oliver Glasner’s team is in. Eagles fans can simply sit back and enjoy!
The opening minutes saw Dynamo Kyiv trying to make an impact, with Volodymyr Brazhko running onto a rebound at the edge of the box in the 10th minute, but his effort sailed well over the crossbar.
Crystal Palace quickly grew into the game. In the 14th minute, Daichi Kamada delivered two dangerous crosses into Dynamo’s penalty area, both cleared by defenders. The Eagles were controlling the play but had yet to turn their dominance into goals.

Palace’s threat continued in the 17th minute when Jean-Philippe Mateta almost reached a through ball, only to be denied by an outstretched leg from Taras Mykhavko. The soon-to-be France international came close to a breakthrough.
The breakthrough came in the 31st minute, with Crystal Palace opening their account in a European competition. Yeremy Pino delivered a free-kick from deep on the left, seemingly going over Daniel Munoz. Remarkably, Munoz leapt backwards to connect with a header, looping the ball inside the far post. The goal came while Kyiv were down to ten men, as Taras Mykhavko required treatment, and Palace made them pay. The goal is HERE!
1 - Daniel Muñoz is Crystal Palace's first ever scorer in major European competition - the Colombian has been involved in more goals than any other Premier League defender in all competitions in 2025 (5 goals, 6 assists). Primero. pic.twitter.com/fzyz1UzV0X

Kyiv came close to responding before the break. In the 43rd minute, Ruslan Neshcheret made a superb save to deny Pino’s header from a precise cross. Just before halftime, Borna Sosa had a clear chance but fired low down the middle; the goalkeeper collected it comfortably.
In stoppage time, 45+4, Daichi Kamada’s dribble past several defenders ended with a low shot to the right, but Neshcheret was again equal to the task, keeping Palace’s lead intact.

Dynamo Kyiv came close to leveling the score early in the second half. In the 54th minute, Mykola Shaparenko connected with a cross inside the box, but his shot lacked accuracy and drifted wide of the right post.
Just two minutes later, Palace thought they had doubled their lead when Eddie Nketiah found the net, only for the flag to go up for offside, much to his frustration.
But the striker didn’t have to wait long to get his name on the scoresheet. In the 58th minute, Yeremy Pino produced a moment of magic on the wing, beating his marker and delivering a delightful outside-of-the-boot cross into the middle. This time, Nketiah was perfectly placed and stylishly flicked the ball past the goalkeeper to make it 2-0 for Palace. The goal is HERE!

Substitute Eddie Nketiah doubles their lead with an excellent flicked finish into the bottom corner 👏 pic.twitter.com/VIv4n5TjlQ
Nketiah almost struck again in the 65th minute when he latched onto a precise pass at the edge of the area and unleashed a low drive toward the bottom left corner. However, the Dynamo keeper was alert and pulled off a superb save, turning the effort behind for a corner.
In the 77th minute, Borna Sosa brought his night to a premature end. Already on a booking, he committed a cynical foul to stop a Dynamo break, fully aware it would earn him a second yellow. Referee Lothar D’hondt had no hesitation, and Sosa was sent off, leaving Crystal Palace to finish the match with ten men.
