Manchester City celebrate a brutal 6-1 home win against Bournemouth thanks to three goals between the 30th and 40th minute and sensational Jeremy Doku's performance
You can resist with a low block against Manchester City for some time, maybe even for half an hour, but once they find that little hole in your defensive wall - watch out, the avalanche is coming!
That's the lesson Andoni Iraola and his Bournemouth will take home after Saturday's humiliating 6-1 loss to Pep Guardiola's sublime team at the Etihad.
The Cherries seemed eager to push for a goalless draw, and everything went according to plan in the opening 30 minutes for the visitors. Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez were close to scoring, but a tad bit of luck saved Bournemouth from conceding in the first half an hour.
However, that was the moment luck turned its back on them, as inspired Jeremy Doku directed a perfect ten-minute goal-rush.
The Belgium winger opted for a one-two with Rodri on the edge of the box before firing it superbly to break both the deadlock and the underdogs' resistance.
Just three minutes later, Doku was back in the epicentre of everything as he assisted Bernardo Silva to double the lead. City's blitzkrieg was brought to an end by who else than Doku in the 37th minute, whose shot was deflected by Akanji, and it was already 3-0 on the scoreboard.
The game was wrapped up at that moment, but the sensational winger of Ghanian descent kept pushing for more, and it paid off for him some 20 minutes into the second half.
His lovely link-up with Foden provided the hosts with the fourth goal of the match, as Doku officially registered his third assist of the game (he'll make another one later), along with the one he scored.
The guests managed to pull one back through Luis Sinisterra, which was, besides Solanke's effort that ended on a crossbar, their only shot on target.
Still, it was not over yet, as impeccable duo Doku-Silva shone again, with the latter sealing a brace for a brutal 5-1 lead, before Ake sealed his team's amazing performance with a late header for a half a dozen goals in the back of the Cherries' net.
