Finally

The saga is over, the player and his new employer got what they wished for. Benjamin Pavard managed to get out of the clutches of Bayern Munich - because the Bavarian club turned out to be too much for him - so he will continue his career at Inter. After several weeks of negotiations, the Nerazzurri officially confirmed that the French defender has signed for the Milanese club.

Inter had to splash out quite a bit of cash for such a privilege, bearing in mind that due to the reluctancy of the club's owners to dig deep in their pockets, director Beppe Marotta usually has to buy without compensation (that's how they took Marcus Thuram from Borussia Mönchengladbach) or for small money (Yann Sommer).

This time he managed to convince the management to pay something. And not a small amount, although in today's football, this sum goes to much worse players than Pavard - 30,000,000 euros fixed and 2,000,000 in bonuses.

However, we are talking about a player who, in four years in Munich, won the Bundesliga four times, the Champions League once, the UEFA Super Cup, and the Club World Cup in which he was the scorer in the final.

"Thank you Benji! We would like to thank Benjamin Pavard for four extremely successful seasons. He was an important part of the team in a historic season in which we won six trophies, especially considering the goal in the Club World Cup final. Respecting his desire to seek a new challenge, we agreed to a transfer to Inter. We wish him all the best", said Bayern director Jan-Christian Dreesen.

Kudos to Thuram, but there is no doubt that the arrival of Pavard is Inter's biggest transfer this summer, and with the announced transfer of Romelu Lukaku to Roma, probably the biggest in Serie A.
