Inter gave up: Bremer leaves Turin but stays in town

They sold Matthijs De Ligt to Bayern but they have found his replacements in a matter of day(s), and he is from the same town. The latest news from the Apennines is that Juventus beat their big rival Inter in a head-to-head bidding and secured the transfer of Brazilian stopper Bremer from Turin. Bremer came to Juve’s city rivals four years ago but exploded in the last two seasons. He became one of the most respected stoppers in the league and especially stood out with great marks in duels with strikers of the best teams, putting Vlahović, Giroud, Osimen in his ‘pocket’...

Big clubs started to ask about Bremer during the winter already, mainly due to the fact that at that point he was under contract until the summer of 2023 and would now be entering the final year of his contract, which meant ‘Toro’ would have to sell him at a pittance below his real value. In February, the Brazilian made a gentlemanly gesture towards Torino. He extended his contract for a year to give Toro a better negotiating position this summer and to earn more from his sale. On the other hand, Torino's president Urbano Cairo gave him a verbal promise that he would sell him if someone offered 25 million euros and that he would not stand in his way. Inter immediately got in touch with the Brazilian and reached a verbal agreement on a five-year contract worth 3.5 million euros per season.

From one side of Turin to the other - Juve are stalking Bremer

But when it was time to finish the deal with Torino, Inter encountered an unexpected response. Urbano Cairo started to go crazy and raise the price. Instead of the promised 25,000,000 euros, he started talking about prices of 50,000,000 to 60,000,000 euros. Inter hoped that Torino president would still keep his word to the player, and that's why they were slow in negotiating the sale of Skriniar to PSG. The plan was to make a lot of money on the Slovak, and then invest less than half of the money in the Brazilian player.

But Juventus entered the race for the Brazilian and added gas when they sold De Ligt to Bayern. In the previous days, there was a bidding war between the two Italian giants for Bremer. Inter raised the offer to 30 million euros fixed plus 7 million through bonuses plus a youngster Cesare Casadei  who would go to Turin. However, Juventus overcame the Nerazzurri. Today, the Old Lady offered Torino as much as 40 million fixed plus 7 through bonuses and the city rival agreed.

It remains for Juve to agree on cooperation with the player and his agents. But as it is speculated that they offered him 5 million euros per season with bonuses included, that shouldn't be a problem either. because the offer is better than Inter's. The deal has not yet been made official, so Inter have a few hours to come up with a new offer for Toro and the player, but it is unlikely that they will succeed in beating Juventus in this bid...
