Katasi joined Leopards from Nzoia and was in action against KCBin round two
AFC Leopards goalkeeper Humphrey Katasi is expected to resume training in two weeks’ time.
Katasi has been out of action since suffering a hamstring injury during their 1-0 defeat to KCB in a game played at the Kasarani Stadium at the start of the month.
The custodian, who was making his Leopards debut on the same day, was withdrawn in the first half, with the slot taken up by Maxwell Mulili, who was in between the sticks in day one of the term.
The rain started beating Katasi a week before the start of the season, as he was declared unfit to start the opener against FC Talanta which ended in a barren draw.
However, he received a clean bill of health on the eve of the subsequent duel but what was supposed to be a debut to remember never came to pass as the unfortunate happened and had to leave the pitch.
The custodian who joined Ingwe from Nzoia Sugar in the off-season window is slated to resume training early next month.
The experienced Levis Opiyo returned to the first team in round three against Muhoroni Youth.
“I can’t wait for two weeks to end so as to resume training,” he told Mozzart Sport.
Despite being unfit, Katasi weighed in on the team’s poor performance in the season as the former league champions are yet to score a goal leave alone winning a duel.
Katasi believes that it is just a matter of time before the club recovers and starts to give the fanbase something to celebrate.
“We will definitely get over it. Everyone is working hard so as to get back to winning ways,” added the former national U20 team goalkeeper.
