If Vinicius leaves Real Madrid, Los Blancos will go all-in for the Norwegian
Real Madrid may be preparing a sensational transfer move by bringing Erling Haaland to the Spanish capital—but only if VinÃcius Junior really leaves and signs for a club in Saudi Arabia. Rumors of the Brazilian star's potential move to the Middle East are growing, and it appears that the entire Saudi football organization is working to make it happen.
As a response, Los Blancos have a counter-plan ready. If Vinicius does indeed make the move, Real Madrid would go all out to bring in the Norwegian superstar.

Vinicius is under contract with Madrid until 2027, and the club is doing everything possible to extend that deal further, mainly to avoid a free transfer situation starting in 2026. The main sticking point between him and president Florentino Perez seems to be salary. The Brazilian reportedly wants to become the club’s highest-paid player—surpassing both Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham. However, Perez is apparently hesitant to meet those demands.
This stand-off is keeping the connection between Vinicius and the Saudi Pro League alive. There are even rumors that the player and Saudi representatives met face-to-face in Prague this past February. If the transfer were to go through, it would involve staggering numbers—a contract worth up to 1 billion euros, with an annual salary of around 300 millions.
Despite the incredible financial offer, Vinicius still seems to prefer staying in Madrid. But everything could change in an instant if Perez has a change of heart.
According to Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, Erling Haaland is at the top of Real Madrid's list in case Vinicius departs. The Norwegian striker is under contract with Manchester City until 2034, having recently signed a new deal.
However, the key issue is that Haaland's new contract does not include a release clause, which means City could ask for at least 200 millions for their goal machine.
