Jacob Ghost Mulee tapped into the emotions of his Harambee Stars players with stories of Kenya classic matches.
Gor Mahia midfielder Kenneth Muguna revealed that Harambee Stars head coach Jacob Ghost Mulee spurred on the team before the Egypt clash with old tales of how Kenya was a force to reckon with in the ’80s and ’90s.
The former Gor Mahia skipper won the hearts of many following his impeccable performance in the 1-1 draw against Egypt in the penultimate African Cup of Nations qualifier.
The 25-year-old revealed how Harambee Stars head coach Ghost Mulee inspired the team to the impressive display.
"Playing for the national team is not a mean feat so when you get the chance you have to play like it's your last match, as a group, we prepared well, the training was good and the coach was motivating us with stories of classic matches from the past. That made everybody believe that it was possible and that's why we gave out that level of performance,” said Muguna.

Ghost Mulee was a goalkeeper during his play days and closely followed the national team but failed to get a chance to represent the country.
Harambee Stars had to come from behind in the clash after going a goal down in the second minute of the game courtesy of a goal from Mohamed Magdy in the Egypt encounter.
Muguna played in a midfield double pivot alongside Kaizer Cheifs midfielder Anthony Akumu who also impressed on his return to the National Team.
Ghost Mulee will however have to do without the services of the midfield duo with Akumu withdrawing from the squad due to family reasons while Muguna suffered a knock in the clash against Egypt.
The former Tusker FC head coach will hope that his charm works against Togo on Monday despite the clash being a dead rubber match.
