Harambee Stars recent impressive results have seen them inch closer to breaking the top 100 barrier.
Harambee Stars have scaled up two places in the latest FIFA Rankings released on Thursday 7 April following their impressive performances in the recent Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. The team is now in position 102 globally, rising two places from 104. In Africa, Stars are ranked 15th.
Kenya leapfrogged Trinidad and Tobago and Palestine in the rankings following their disappointing results in their respective World Cup qualifiers.
Jacob Ghost Mulee’s charges held Egypt who are ranked 46th in the world to a 1-1 draw at home in the AFCON qualifiers.
Bandari FC winger Abdalla Hassan cancelled out Magdi Kafsha’s second-minute goal in the closing half but the result dumped Harambee Stars out of the 2021 AFCON tourney.
Harambee Stars built on that performance by beating Togo 2-1 away from home in the final group clash to end their qualifying campaign on a high.
