Harambee Starlets stagnate in latest FIFA rankings

Beldine Odemba's side recorded three straight losses in the last window, albeit to superior opponents
Kenya women's national football Harambee Starlets have remained rooted at position 142 in the latest FIFA rankings announced on Thursday 12 June.
Starlets, who in March made one of the biggest leaps to move up seven places, made no progress in the latest window, and remain at their second highest ranking in the last four years.

After delivering a huge 1-0 win away from home against Tunisia in late February, Beldine Odemba's side has gone on a run of three straight defeats, albeit to superior opposition.
Kenya, in two friendlies against highly-ranked Ivory Coast, lost 2-0 in both matches, before being handed a 5-1 shellacking by Morocco last week.
The matches - all friendlies - were arranged to offer Starlets quality competition as they prepare for their all-important Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifier against Gambia in October.
Ivory Coast, despite their two wins over Kenya, have dropped one place to 72nd in the world, while Morocco have maintained position 60 globally.
Nigeria's Super Falcons continue to top the continent in 36th place, followed by South Africa's Banyana Banyana, who are ranked 54th.
None of Africa's top three has moved positions.
The biggest climber however is Egypt, who moved up seven places to position 93, with United Arab Emirates recording the biggest drop - five places to number 117.
In East Africa, neighbors Tanzania jumped a place up to 137th in the world, Uganda remained 148th, while Rwanda dropped a position to place 166th.
Starlets, after their round of friendlies, will now shift focus to the upcoming 2025 CECAFA Senior Women’s Championship, set to take place from Friday 13 to Sunday, 22 June in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
Having arrived in Dar, Starlets begin their campaign against Burundi on Sunday 15 June at the Azam Complex, before facing Uganda on Tuesday, 17 June.
Thereafter, Kenya will come up against South Sudan on Thursday 19 June, before wrapping up the group stages with a clash against hosts Tanzania on Saturday 21 June.
