After a 13-day drama, kidnappers have released the Colombian footballer's dad
The father of Liverpool football player Luis DÃaz, who was abducted 13 days ago by left-wing insurgents, has been let free, according to police sources and local media.
The National Liberation Army gave Luis Manuel DÃaz over to the United Nations and Catholic church officials, 13 days after he was kidnapped from Barrancas, their hometown.

According to the local media, Diaz Senior was being transported by military helicopter to Valledupar, where he will be examined medically before being sent back to his family.
The Colombian Football Federation released a statement on Thursday expressing gratitude to the National Government, the Military Forces, and the National Police, as well as all the institutions and officials who played a part in the release of Luis Manuel Diaz.
