Ongwae says pressure is on Soy United ahead of Saturday's league match at Bukhungu.
Gusii FC assistant coach Andrew Ongwae says the pressure is on Soy United ahead of Saturday’s league match between the two teams at Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega County.
Both teams are struggling and are currently separated by a solitary point. Soy is 18th in the log with 17 points while Gusii United is 16th with 18 points. They have both played 18 league matches.
Speaking ahead of the match, Ongwae a former Gor Mahia, Nairobi City Stars, Zoo FC and Shabana player said the pressure is on the hosts while predicting an entertaining game between the two NSL outfits
“We are both struggling at the moment and I expect a tough game because both teams will go all out in search of maximum points. We also expect an entertaining game as both teams play good football, they love to pass the ball around so we are in for some good entertainment,” he told Mozzart Sport.

Ongwae added that they will be looking to capitalize on the pressure the hosts will be feeling at home to get a vital win at Bukhungu Stadium.
“For us, the target is to get three points from the game. Soy is at home and I know that they will be under more pressure than us and so we can capitalize on that and get a good result, for us the target is to get all the three points,” he added.
The team recently dropped the name Sony Sugar and relocated to Kisii from Awendo and the tactician says it will be important for the team to mark its new identity with a win
“We have to get a win to celebrate our recently acquired new name, it will be good if we start on a winning note under a new identity. The office and the fans are expecting a lot from us and we cannot afford to let them down on Saturday,” he concluded.
