Gor Mahia assistant coach Sammy Omollo is happy with his team's fitness levels. He also discussed why Jules Ulimwengu is yet to link up with the rest of the team.
Gor Mahia assistant coach Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo is impressed by his players’ level of fitness as they ready themselves for the resumption of the FKF Premier League on Wednesday.
K’Ogalo resumed training last week ahead of their league match against Wazito FC scheduled for Wednesday at the Moi International Sports Center in Kasarani.
With most FKF Premier League teams complaining of the high level of unfitness exhibited by their players, Pamzo says most Gor Mahia players are in good shape and are ready for the resumption of the league that was halted in March due to the surging cases of COVID-19.
“We are progressing well with our preparations. Training has been good so far, most of the players are actually fitter than they were before the league was stopped which means they were training well individually. As the technical bench we are impressed because it makes our work easier,” he told Mozzart Sport.
Pamzo further spoke on the importance of starting well against Francis Kimanzi’s side on Wednesday afternoon.
“We are now handling the technical part and preparing ourselves for the game and Wednesday. It is important that we start well on Wednesday, we have to work hard to catch up with the leading lot” he added.

The former Posta Rangers supremo disclosed that all players reported for training bar Wilson Silva who has returned to Brazil and Burundian Jules Ulimwengu who has personal issues to attend to.
“Only Wilson and Jules missed training. Ulimwengu will link up with the team soon. He has a personal issue which he is currently handling and after that, he will be back with the team,” he concluded.
After Wazito, Gor Mahia will take on Nairobi City Stars in their next match.
