The forward missed their barren draw against Bandari last weekend.

Gor Mahia forward Benson Omala is hoping that coach Mark Harrison will open the door to the starting team for him again when they travel to face Kakamega Homeboyz this weekend.

The unfit Omala was unused substitute in their barren draw against Bandari in a league match played last Sunday at the Nyayo Stadium.

The forward failed a late fitness test thanks to a shin injury picked in their 3-1 win over debutants Vihiga Bullets last week where he lasted on the pitch for one half. The absence of the striker was felt as Gor neither threatened nor breached Bandari and had to be content with a point.

I think I will be fully fit when we play Homeboyz in our next match. I sustained a cut on my shin while vying for possession with a Bullets player. The pain is slowly subsiding and I hope that I will be okay to face and even score in our next game,” he said.

Omala who prior to the minor setback had endured goal drought expressed optimism in returning to the scoring sheets and help Gor maintain their unbeaten start in the league.

The record Kenyan champions have laid bare their intentions of recapturing the title they surrendered to Tusker last season by winning five of their eight matches and sharing spoils thrice. Gor were reduced to contesting for domestic titles after they were tossed out of the CAF Confederation Cup tournament following their 2-1 loss on aggregate to AS Otoho d'Oyo.

“I want to come back bear the responsibility of ensuring that we continue with the course to win the league and defend the Cup,” he said.

K’ogalo boast of having the meanest defence in the competition as they have conceded a paltry two goals.
