Jacob Ghost Mulee is looking to continue the improvement in performances when they embark on the World Cup qualifiers.
Harambee Stars head coach Jacob Ghost Mulee is hoping that the impressive performance against Egypt can spur the team in the next clash against Togo and in the coming 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
Despite being bundled out of the 2021 African Cup of Nations following their 1-1 stalemate against Egypt, Harambee Stars offered hopes of improvement in the future with their decent display.
Harambee Stars are slated to face Togo on Monday 29 March in a dead rubber match with both nations already being knocked out of the continental tourney.
Mulee who is in a rebuilding phase having made the bold decision to drop the old guards in his latest squads is hoping the Egypt performance can be a stepping stone to better performances in future.
“The team showed immense confidence in their game against Egypt and it gives me hope of a positive result as we face Togo on Monday and also in the other upcoming competitions ahead in the calendar,” said Mulee.

Mulee faces an uphill battle in the Togo clash as he will miss the services of Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Anthony Akumu and Gor Mahia stalwart Kenneth Muguna.
Akumu withdrew from the squad with reports indicating that he opted out due to a family problem while Muguna suffered a knock in the clash against Egypt.
Kenya is in Group E in the race for five slots available in the Qatar World Cup alongside Rwanda, Mali and Uganda.
The fixtures for the qualifiers are yet to be announced with the matches set to take place between 31 May – 15 June 2021, 30 August – 7 September 2021 and 4–12 October 2021.
Should Kenya finish top of the group they will proceed to the Third Round that is pencilled for 8–16 November 2021.
