Several well-known names are already part of the Baller League, and Marco Reus is set to become a team manager in one of its squads
Marco Reus has spent the past year playing for LA Galaxy in the United States, with his contract set to run through December 2026. But even while still active on the pitch, the former Dortmund star has already taken on a new role off it.
The German indoor soccer league, Baller League, announced Wednesday that Reus will join as a team manager. In a statement, he said: "The Baller League is a really cool project for me. It moves with the times, appeals especially to younger fans, and presents soccer in a new way." He added: “For me, this is not a replacement for professional football, but a perfect complement.”

On Instagram, Reus made his excitement clear in a video: "Baller League? One hundred percent. I'm in."
Founded in 2024, the Baller League has quickly attracted high-profile names, including Reus's former teammate Mats Hummels and Lukas Podolski. The indoor format features 6-on-6 matches, 30-minute games (2 x 15-minute halves), and no sidelines on the smaller fields.
Other notable team managers include former professional Kevin-Prince Boateng and Croatian international Ana-Maria Markovic. The new season kicks off in October.

Baller League COO Daniel Donaldson praised the addition of Reus: "With Marco Reus, the Baller League is gaining one of the greatest personalities in German football. He represents enthusiasm, precision, and cleverness—exactly the values we stand for."
Reus will lead the team named Legacy Ballers. The former international, who earned 48 caps for Germany and spent 12 years at Borussia Dortmund before joining the MLS, said: "I'm really looking forward to the new challenge and to working with my team and the league."
Reus is currently sidelined at LA Galaxy due to a thigh injury, which also kept him out of action in June.
