Gambian-born Senegalese leaves Yellow Submarine to pursue his EPL career with Chelsea

What a year this has been for Nicolas Jackson so far!

The prolific African forward, born in Gambia in 2001, was dreaming big in January as AFC Bournemouth were eager to snatch him before the giants come and highjack the Villarreal striker. And the deal was basically done. All that was left to be done were the medicals, but unfortunately, he failed due to hamstring issues.

After returning to action in March, the Senegalese scored nine goals in April and May, including braces against Celta Vigo, Athletic Bilbao and Cadiz. Overall, he registered 13 goals and five assists in 38 appearances for the Yellow Submarine in the recently ended La Liga season.

And now, less than six months after that devastating setback mentioned above, Jackson's luck could change thoroughly.

Having agreed to meet his €35m release clause, Mauricio Pochettino's Chelsea is determined to sign the promising attacker.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Blues' are scheduling the forward's medical as you read this piece, and we could see him raising Chelsea's shirt in less than 72 hours.

The African talent will bolster the attacking options of the Blues', which badly struggled for goals last term and finished just 12th in the Premier League.
