Gabriel 'Eagle-killer' Jesus runs Arsenal's riots against Palace

This man really doesn't like Crystal Palace! Or the Eagles! But he surely has something against them! Three days after the EFL Cup match - which Arsenal won 3-2 - Crystal Palace and the Gunners met again, this time in the Premier League, and Gabriel Jesus ruled the pitch once again!

Following his winning hat trick in the aforementioned match, Jesus continued in the same manner, as he was the most deserving of Arsenal's convincing victory. The forward completed a brace after only 15 minutes, first bringing his team the lead and then annulling Sarr's leveller. Havertz before the break and Martinelli and Rice after, just confirmed the Gunners' triumph - 5-1.

It took the Brazilian only six minutes to continue his scoring spree against Oliver Glasner's team! However, the Gunners' joy lasted for just five minutes, as Ismaila Sarr levelled already five minutes after the opener, finding David Raya's bottom-left corner for 1-1! Still, Mikel Arteta's crew did not despair, and once Arsenal awaited a corner kick four minutes later, it was 2-1! Who else than a man who obviously has something against Crystal Palace - Gabriel Jesus!

Jean-Philippe Mateta could have shocked the away fans like Sarr did, but Raya made a superb safe in a situation where the whole crowd already saw the ball in the net. After the Frenchman's chance, the match entered a peaceful phase until the 38th minute, when the Gunners hit the woodwork twice and netted their third goal!

Gabriel Magalhaes hit the bar after a corner, but the action continued. Jesus was unlucky to complete a hat-trick, hitting the post, but the deflection came to Kai Havertz, who passed the ball into the empty net for 3-1!

Yet, despite a comfortable lead at the break, neither Arsenal fans nor Arteta could be completely relaxed, as the Gunners' "Starboy" Bukayo Saka was forced to leave the pitch already midway through the first half due to injury, being replaced with Leandro Trossard.

Unlike the first period, Palace opened the second half with more energy, threatening over Mateta and Sarr. The Eagles failed to convert their opportunities and were punished at an hour mark! Jesus was once again included in the action, as Dean Henderson stopped his strike. The ball came to Declan Rice, whose effort deflected off Gabriel Martinelli and ended in the net - 4-1!

The English midfielder properly used his time on the pitch as he managed to score the fifth goal for the North London side, unleashing a superb effort from the edge of the box for 5-1!

Arsenal finally noted an easy and convincing triumph, which moves them back to the third place, behind Liverpool and Chelsea. Now, the Gunners can only hope that Everton and Tottenhem can snatch some points from the leading duo and thus help them rejoin the title race with more favourable chances.
