Kenyan midfielder Henry Ochieng featured full minutes as Chelmsford City fell to National League leaders Ebbsfleet United 2-0 on Tuesday evening.

The former Cork City man was given a starting berth, his 17th of the season, to make his 23rd appearance of the season.

Rakish Bingham opened the scoring for Ebbsfleet after just 27 minutes, with Luke O'Neill doubling the advantage with one minute left in regular time.

The loss left Chelmsford City fifth on the log with 44 points from 25 matches, missing on the chance to move to fourth past Worthing who have played two matches more.

Ochieng joined Chelmsford City at the start of the current campaign from another NLN side Billericay Town and had made a total of 23 appearances, starting in 17 and coming off the bench in six.

He has scored once this season, netting in the 2-0 win over Cheshunt in October last year.

The 24-year-old has had stints with Hemel Hempstead, Cork City, Braintree Town, and Leyton Orient.
