Dylan Kerr led TTM to the Nedbanck Cup final, consequently leading his team to next season's Confederation Cup
Former Gor Mahia coach Dylan Kerr yesterday added a magnificent surprise title to his resume after leading his relegation threatened Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) side to the Nedbank Cup title with a 1-0 win over Chippa United.
A deflected strike from Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo in the 36th minute was enough for the Limpopo based club to do the improbable by winning a trophy in their debut season in the top flight. In the process of lifting the title at the Free State Stadium, TTM made history by winning their first-ever major trophy under the former Kogalo boss.

Getting to the historic feat has however not been an easy climb for the English man. With this being their maiden premiership campaign, the clubs’ trials and tribulations have been well documented. The club rebranded from Bidvest Wits to TTM and changed ownership midway through the season after the previous owner, according to Times Live, was unable to run the club professionally during his short stay at the club.
Kerr, who led Gor to the continental Confederation Cup group stages, has also not had it easy on his part. The former Black Leopards boss had been with TTM since February in an advisory role and the cup final was the first game in three months that the coach has been able to stand on the touchline since being appointed.
The former Baroka head has had to watch from the stands as his work permit had not yet been sorted, but timeously, the documentation was sorted and he was on the touchline for the final.
After securing the cup, the team will now compete in the CAF Confederation Cup next season, a feat that was a rebuttal to everyone who has doubted his stint especially down under.
“For all those people who doubted me and those who still think I’m not good enough, I thank you for making me what I am,” Kerr posted on his Twitter page after the win.

Kerr will however hope to inspire his boys to a strong finish in the league where they are facing the axe. His side sit 14th on the log on 25 points, only one point above the relegation places.
