The transfer is Gitego’s second since terminating his contract with FKF Premier League side AFC Leopards in January this year.

The Rwandan striker, in January 2024, penned a two-year deal with Ingwe, only to mutually agree on walking away from the club a year later.

Gitego, prior to leaving Fred Ambani’s side, had been reported to have had a domestic dispute that saw him briefly detained by the police, before struggling for game time in his second season.

The former Marines FC player on multiple occasions attempted to have his contract terminated, stating to Rwandan publication Times Sport that he had many offers, and that AFC Leopards were playing 'little tricks' with him in a bid to let him stay.

His wish was granted earlier in February this year, paving a way for him to join Mozambique’s Ferroviario da Beira.

During his time at Leopards, Gitego scored four goals in the Premier League, and was also awarded the 2023-2024 Mozzart Bet Cup top scorer with five goals.

In FUS Rabat, Gitego joins the one-time Moroccan Botola Pro champions, who won the CAF Confederation Cup in 2010.
