Thika have parted ways on mutual consent with Kanyi and his place taken by former coach Benta Achieng. In addition to the returning tactician, the former champions will have returning Esse Akida in their line-up.
Former Women Premier League (WPL) champions Thika Queens host new entrants Ulinzi Starlets at Thika Stadium in a clash that promises to be a thriller.
Joseph Mwanza's charges will be looking to revenge their 2-1 first leg loss to the then Richard Kanyi coached Thika while the opponent is looking to extend their unbeaten run to eight matches.
Thika have parted ways on mutual consent with Kanyi and his place taken by former coach Benta Achieng. In addition to the returning tactician, the former champions will have returning Esse Akida in their line-up.
"We have done our best in preparation knowing the kind of opponent we are up against. I am lucky that all the injured players I had at the end of the first leg have recovered and are available for selection. We head to Thika targeting maximum points but at the very least a point from the side," said Ulinzi coach Mwanza.
Meanwhile, 2019 league runners-up Gaspo Youth play Zetech Sparks in a Ruiru derby, as the match which was earlier scheduled for Saturday was postponed to Sunday.
Gaspo hope to repeat their first leg feat against the scholars where they picked a 5-1 win for what was their first win of the season in the first leg clash against Sparks.
A win for Gaspo, who are under the tutelage of a new head coach, former Kariobangi Sharks' assistant coach Ayub Shaka, takes them to second place on 16 points, a point better than Ulinzi Starlets who play on Sunday.
In the event that Bernard Kitolo's charges, Sparks, cause an upset, they go fourth on the log at 13 points unless they can master enough goals to surpass Gaspo's goal difference of six goals. The varsity side is currently fifth at ten points from three wins and one draw and have a -5 goal difference.
In addition to a new tactician, Gaspo will be boosted by the return of midfielder Corazone Aquino who has since re-signed to the side for a year after a six-month stint in Portugal.
