John Ochieng recently joined Zambian Super League (ZSL) side Sensational Zanaco FC - ending intense speculations over his future after leaving Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) giants Gor Mahia.
"I felt relieved," the midfielder, who refers to himself as "Champe", told Mozzart Sport.

"I can now focus on doing what I love most, which is playing football and winning trophies," he added.
Ochieng was a second half substitute - coming on for injured Dominic Kanda in the 85th minute as they rallied from a goal down to pick a 1-1 draw against Forest Rangers in the ZSL week 2 at Sunset Stadium in Lusaka, Zambia on Saturday.
The former Chemelil Sugar FC player was one of the emerging Gor Mahia players last season as K'Ogalo won a record 20th FKFPL title.
"Gor Mahia was a great experience and I thank them for the opportunity, but I also needed a new challenge and Zanaco has offered it."
Ochieng has the company of another Gor Mahia player Dennis Ng'ang'a. "It feels so good having a familiar face around, a countryman and someone you have played with and understands," Ochieng said.
Ng'ang'a, a defender, who was a mainstay for Gor Mahia last season, played the entire game.
Ochieng intends to solidify his place at the heart of Zanaco’s midfield, "I am a winner, a champion, my aim is to get regular playtime and that means working hard in training and taking every opportunity given by the coach."
Zanaco will hit the road for a trip to FC Muza in a rescheduled Week 1 match slated for Nakambala Stadium on Wednesday.
"It's another opportunity to work hard and defend the badge. We hope to win and return with a win. As a player, I'm looking forward to playing my part," Ochieng said.
