Even without Osimhen and Chukwueze, Super Eagles have enough attacking force to annihilate Lesotho

Boniface and Awoniyi backed by Iheanacho and Iwobi. Not too bad, not too bad...

Nigeria will host Lesotho on Thursday in the Super Eagles' opening game of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers. With Victor Osimhen sidelined after picking up an injury during the last international break and Samuel Chukwueze also absent, coach Jose Peseiro will have to rely on Victor Boniface and Taiwo Awoniyi up front.

Moreover, the Super Eagles attacking line can also count on the likes of Kelechi Iheanacho, Terem Moffi, Alex Iwobi and Umar Sadiq.

Nigeria are unbeaten in the last five games, picking up four wins and a draw since their 1-0 defeat to Guinea-Bissau in March. On the other hand, Lesotho are coming into this game off back-to-back losses against Ivory Coast and Zambia.

The Super Eagles have dominated the meetings between both sides, as they currently enjoy a four-game winning streak over the visitors.

Nigeria and Lesotho are in Group C alongside Benin, Rwanda and South Africa.
