Former England international is seriously considering retiring before his 30th birthday
One thing's for sure - it's never dull with Dele Alli. The former England international and Spurs star had his ups and downs, riding on a genuine rollercoaster throughout his career, but he's hit a new low.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the 29-year-old midfielder is now seriously considering retirement after being left out of Como's pre-season plans ahead of the new Serie A campaign.
Dele joined Cesc Fabregas' side in January on an 18-month deal with the option of a further year, but now everything is in serious doubt after a dramatic outcome.
Believe it or not, Alli's fortune at Como went the wrong way after only nine minutes into his long-awaited Serie A debut back in March. He was sent off against AC Milan at San Siro, which drew a furious reaction from Fabregas and it marked a turning point in Dele's brief Italian spell.
He has since fallen out of favour and has not been included in Fabregas' first-team plans for the 2025–26 season despite returning to training after injury.
Alli played a key role in Tottenham's run to the Champions League final in 2019 and earned 37 caps for England, including the 2018 World Cup appearance.
However, a string of injuries and a dramatic loss of form and off-field struggles abruptly stopped his stellar rise.
