Ombija will be hoping to add to his tally when the league action returns in a fortnight when FC Talanta takes on current league leaders Posta Rangers FC.

Eric Ombija registered the first hat-trick of the 23/24 FKF-PL season in Friday's six-goal thriller between Kakamega Homeboyz and FC Talanta.

Ombija, who was on the scoresheet each half to secure his side FC Talanta a point on the road, is now placed second in the top scorers chart with four goals, two behind Benson Omala, and hopes to frequently find the back of the net to fight for the top scorer accolade.

Despite struggling to hit the road running, the former Nairobi City Stars forward admits Friday exploits are a great motivation factor for him in achieving his personal and team's season objectives.

"I am really happy to finally have grabbed my first top-flight hat-trick. It is every forward's desire to achieve such upfront, and honestly, Friday was a fulfilling moment for me, and I hope to be at my best upfront." Said the striker.

The former Gor Mahia prospect says Friday's performance is a huge motivation factor for his season's target.

"I have been working hard in training towards my first goal of the campaign, and I am pleased I was able to be on the scoresheet on three occasions. As a striker, our main wish is to always fight for the top scorer's accolade, and I feel I am motivated towards my targets of being the best or among the best upfront and to help my team attain its season targets." He added.

Ombija will be hoping to add to his tally when the league action returns in a fortnight when FC Talanta takes on current league leaders Posta Rangers FC.
