Die Adler occupy the Champions League spot with an away win

Eintracht Frankfurt has moved up to the Champions League spot after another great display and away win against Hoffenheim 1-3. Die Adler continued their excellent form so far, winning in seven of their last six games. Eintracht are also the second most efficient team in the Bundesliga, even without Real’s Luka Jovic, who didn’t start the match.

But he didn’t need to, because his team-mate Andre Silva is in terrific form, and tonight he scored his 17th goal this season. But it was Jovic’s Serbian team-mate Filip Kostic who started the scoring. Eintracht’s midfielder loves to play against Hoffenheim because he scored four goals and managed four assists against them, more than against any other club. And he proved that today, with one more goal and two assists. And that goal was a beautiful individual effort.

Hoffenheim did play well at the beginning of the match, but just lacked the final ball, which was crucial. At the start of the second half, the hosts made a substitution, as Bebou came in for Baumgartner, and the Togolesean immediately scored, after an excellent solo effort.

That was the dream start for Hoffenheim in the second half, and they had a great chance to completely turn the game five minutes late. But from that moment on, it was again all Eintracht. The guests took the lead in the 62nd minute after Kostic made a great cross and N'Dicka found the net.

Spirited Kostic was assistant two minutes later, but this time it was Andre Silva who sealed Hoffenheim’s fate.

Eintracht will be pleased with another great display, while Hoffenheim’s tenth league defeat puts them dangerously close to the relegation battle. They are just 5 points away from a play-out spot, and Arminia has a game in hand.
