Eighth season at Stadio Maradona will be his last: Polish ace will join Inter in July

It's not official, but it really is. Piotr Zielinski's father, Rugoslav, publicly confirmed that his son would leave Napoli when his contract expired at the end of the current season - and that he'd "stay in Italy". Everyone who followed the news in that country knows that it really means Zielinski has already agreed to join Inter.

Piotr wants to give his all in the last fifteen games with Napoli, then his future will be elsewhere, at Inter. After Inter's director of football, Giuseppe Marotta's words opened the door to his arrival, another direct confirmation came through the midfielder's father. Accepting his son's award as the best Polish player of last year, Mr Rugoslav admitted his boy's career change, albeit without explicitly mentioning the future club.

"Piotr will leave Napoli and continue playing in Italy."

The 29-year-old Polish international has been removed from Napoli's UEFA Champions League squad for the remainder of the season, although the Campagna club's director Mauro Meluso weakly claimed that it was purely a "sporting decision."

"Zielinski is a golden lad and a great professional. He has given a great deal to Napoli and will continue to give a lot to Napoli, albeit only in Serie A."

The classy midfielder has been ever-present for Napoli since joining them from Udinese for around $20 million at the start of the 2016/17 season. Since then, he has made a total of 355 appearances in all competitions for the Blues, scoring 50 goals and winning the long-awaited Scudetto last season.
