Wataru Endo could leave Anfield after only one season, but only for the right price
Roberto De Zerbi really likes Premier League players. After former Man United winger Mason Greenwood and Tottenham's Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, the next Italian's wish is Liverpool's midfielder Wataru Endo. The process of squad reconstruction at Marseille is in full swing, with the Japanese being another missing piece in De Zerbi's puzzle.

On the other hand, Liverpool needn't sell Endo in this transfer window, especially regarding their lack of midfielders given that - after Fabinho and Jordan Henderson left - there are only Alexis Mac Allister, Harvey Elliott, and the 19-year-old convalescent Stefan Bajcetic. However, Endo is already 31 and is not a long-term solution.
According to some information, Marseille are not the only party interested in the Japanese, and the Reds are ready to "test the market" and wait for a better offer than the Ligue 1 side's. Namely, Liverpool want to avoid losing money on Endo. He was paid around 20 million euros and signed a four-year deal. After a year at Anfield, his value is now approximately 15 million. Hence, Marseille's offer of around 14 million is not good enough.
Meanwhile, the Japanese waits for the final verdict and resolution of his future, while Liverpool remain the only Premier League side without a signing in this transfer window. As for Marseille, apart from the reinforcements mentioned above, and Endo, De Zerbi is also interested in Arsenal's Eddie Nketiah and Inter Milan's young midfielder Valentin Carboni.
