The London club and the Argentine expert ended their cooperation after only one season
The Clearlake Capital-Todd Boehly ownership has just wasted their third permanent head coach since taking over Chelsea just two years ago. As per The Telegraph, the Blues owners held a meeting with the Argentine expert after a season analysis and it was decided on Tuesday morning that it’s better for both parties to end the cooperation. According to the report, there was no quarrel between the two parties, and Pochettino will leave after only one year and with a hefty sum in his pocket.

On Tuesday evening, the club officially confirmed the news with a short statement that they parted ways with the former PSG and Tottenham coach.
“Thank you to the Chelsea ownership group and Sporting Directors for the opportunity to be part of this football club's history. The Club is now well positioned to keep moving forward in the Premier League and Europe in the years to come” said Pochettino on the club’s website. What follows now is a series of interviews with the potential candidates and per Telegraph, the Blues are seeking a young, progressive coach. Among the names likely to be considered will be Stuttgart’s Sebastian Hoeness, Girona’s Michel, Ipswich Town’s Kieran McKenna, who has been lined up by Brighton, and Leicester City’s Enzo Maresca. Mauricio Pochettino first went to dinner with Todd Boehly on Friday before he began his annual review on Monday with sporting directors Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart, and co-controlling owner Behdad Eghbali after which the decision was made. Even thou he took the very young squad and had to deal with inexperienced players along with a lot of injuries, Pochettino managed to get the Blues to the Europa League on the last day of the season, but apparently it wasn’t enough for Boehly.
Even the Carabao Cup final in his first year in charge (they lost to Liverpool), as well as the FA Cup semi-final, was not good. All in all, he led the young Chelsea team 51 times and has 27 wins from those games. He started shaky and was 11th at one point (February, 4-2 loss at home to Wolves), but managed to finish the season strong. Now, some other candidate will be in the dugout at Stamford Bridge, and the fans hurried to social media platforms to plea for Thomas Tuchel’s return.
