The biennial continental championship which began on Saturday 2 August is being hosted by Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania with Harambee Stars in Group A hosting all its matches at Kasarani.
Asked whether he had hopes of being the tournament's top scorer, the Gor Mahia man confidently said he had the ability to deliver.
“I want to keep improving. I still demand a lot from myself. I need to get better. I need to score more. For instance, if I could have scored many goals, we would have won the match.
The competition is still in its early stages and I can not really talk about the 'Golden Boot' but I want to keep scoring and helping the team to win matches,” said Odhiambo.
The 25-year-old, who has been outstanding in the two Kenyan matches, earned himself a standing ovation from fans.
When he was rested, the entire stadium erupted, chanting his name and applauding his efforts much to his satisfaction.
“It really humbles me to hear the fans chant my name but at the same time, it comes with pressure because it means that they demand a certain level of performance from me,” he added.
Meanwhile, the former AFC Leopards midfielder thanked Kenyans fans for backing the team even under intense pressure from Angola.
Stars played the better part of the match with a man down after Marvin Nabwire's red card in the 21st minute.
“The fans are really important for us. We managed to get a point out of the match because of them. I just want to send my appreciation to all for the good work. We will meet again on Sunday,” he added.
Kenya will play Morocco on Sunday, 10 April in what will be their third Group A match.
