In the semi-finals, Bullets overpowered Simba Queens 3-2, while CBE defeated Uganda’s Kawempe Muslim Ladies 2-1

Kenya Police Bullets are on the brink of making history as they take on hosts Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) in the final of the fourth edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League Cecafa qualifiers at Abebe Bikila Stadium in Addis Ababa.

In a repeat of their Group A clash, where the Ethiopians secured a 2-1 victory, the Bullets will seek to win their first Cecafa title in their maiden appearance and book a spot in Africa’s premier women's inter-club competition.

However, the law enforcers face the uphill task of avenging their earlier defeat, with CBE hungry for success after failing to clinch the title in recent years.

The Ethiopian side lost 2-1 to Vihiga Queens in 2021 before falling short against JKT Queens of Zanzibar last year on post-match penalties.

In 2022, they were defeated 1-0 by Tanzania’s Simba Queens in the semi-finals held at Azam Complex Stadium.

Despite the opponents’ impressive profile and experience in the competition, Bullets' coach Beldine Odemba expects her team to rise to the occasion and get the job done.

“I look at it as any other match; they have learned our strengths, and we have learned theirs. Each team will try to capitalize on the other’s mistakes,” said Odemba, as quoted by the Daily Nation.

“We are hoping to take the cup home. Most of the players were playing in the tournament for the first time, and we had to work on them psychologically because, technically, they know what they are doing. Tactically, they understand very well what we want from them,” added Odemba.

In the semi-finals, Bullets overpowered Simba Queens 3-2, while CBE defeated Uganda’s Kawempe Muslim Ladies 2-1.

The match kicks off at 2.00 pm Nairobi time.
