The Tanzanian side face Horoya in their next match

Tanzanian giants Simba SC completed a double over Uganda's Vipers SC in the CAF Champions League, picking a 1-0 win to keep their hopes of advancing to the quarters alive.

This was the second win for the Robertinho-coached side, their first having been an identical 1-0 win over Vipers back in Uganda just over a week ago.

Kenyan international Joash Onyango played full minutes in the match, partnering Henock Inonga at centerback, just as it has been in the other three matches in the group.

Clatous Chama slotted the ball past Alfred Mudekereza right at the death of the first half as they went on to hold to the slim-advantage to the final whistle.

Vipers thought they had leveled matters five minutes into the second half but their goal was struck off for an alleged offside.

Simba play Horoya next at home in a match that could confirm their participation if they pick a win in the match, before facing off with Raja Club Athletic in the last match.

Horoya 1-3 Raja Club Athletic

In the other match in Group C, Raja Club Athletic saw off Horoya as they won 3-1 on the road to seal their quarters spot with two matches to spare.

Both clubs had to play for the larger part of the match with a man less each after Moussa Camara and Jamal Harkass were sent off for Horoya and Raja respectively, Camara exiting the stage in the 26th minute after being booked twice in a span of three minutes while Harkass was sent off in the fourth minute of stoppage time.

Raja took an early lead in the sixth minute when Walid Sabbar struck to give the visitors the early lead with Mohammed Nahir doubling the advantage with three mutes left to play in the first leg.

On resumption for the second leg, Sabbar made it 3-0 three minutes after the hour mark but Pape Abdou Ndiaye got one back for Horoya seven minutes later.

Mohamed Zrida could have made it 4-0 for Raja from the spot but his spotkick was off target.
