The tournament is set to get underway on Saturday, 2 August, with the opening match scheduled for 8:00 PM EAT at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

As part of the final preparations, CAF officials are visiting key venues and facilities while also conducting a series of operational workshops.

The focus areas include Broadcasting and TV production, Safety and Security, Logistics, Transport, Accommodation, Training Grounds, Airports, and overall Competition Readiness.

The delegation began their tour in Nairobi on Wednesday, 3 July, where they will stay until Sunday, 6 July, before heading to Zanzibar, Tanzania, and then wrapping up the mission in Uganda.

This tour marks the final lap in CAF’s extensive evaluation process to ensure the host nations are fully prepared to deliver a world-class CHAN 2024 tournament.

Meanwhile, Harambee Stars head coach Benni McCarthy has unveiled his provisional squad for the tournament.

The team, composed exclusively of FKF Premier League players, will kick off its preparations on home soil before heading to Tanzania later this month for a tournament.

To further enhance CHAN readiness, CECAFA has organised a high-intensity Four-Nation Tournament featuring regional heavyweights: Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Sudan.

The mini-tournament will run from Thursday, 24 to Sunday, 27 July at Karatu Stadium in Arusha, Tanzania. It will follow a knockout format:

Thursday, 24 July

Uganda vs Sudan – 1:00 PM

Tanzania vs Kenya – 4:00 PM

Winners will advance to the final on Sunday, 27 July, while the losers contest the third-place playoff earlier the same day.

The competition provides a crucial platform for all four sides to fine-tune tactics, test squad depth, and build momentum ahead of the CHAN 2024 tournament.
