Nigerian striker missed the first-half penalty before scoring the decisive goal in the second half for the defending champion against Eintracht Frankfurt (2-1)

It has to be crazy, it has to be dramatic with Xabi Alonso and Bayer Leverkusen.

The defending champion have managed to win against Eintracht Frankfurt (2-1) after coming from behind on Saturday afternoon, thus getting back to winning ways.

Victor Boniface scored the winner in the second half, but it was the Nigerian striker who missed the first-half penalty. Seven minutes later, Omar Marmoush won a penalty on the other end after being brought down by Robert Andrich. The Egyptian converted it to give Frankfurt an unexpected lead.

However, Andrich would redeem himself shortly to equalise for Leverkusen before the break.

The second half saw a much better Leverkusen, with Xabi Alonso's side blatantly improving and pushing for the total comeback. It paid off eventually as Frankfurt's keeper Trapp misjudged Wirtz's cross, and allowed Boniface to score in an empty net for the win.

Leverkusen's next game is against Brest in the Champions League in midweek.
