Boniface on target to keep Lever's pace and scare Bayern

Not so long ago, we talked about breaking Harry Kane's title curse, as Bayern Munich were on the verge of grabbing the Bundesliga crown.

However, things have started to change recently, and after Friday night, Bayer Leverkusen is just three points away from the Bavarians, who have a game in hand (against St. Pauli on Saturday).

Xabi Alonso's side defeated Bochum 3-1, mostly thanks to Victor Boniface. The Nigerian striker found the back of the net and was Leverkusen's best player tonight.

The nervousness in Leverkusen's game was obvious. Bochum managed to bounce back after conceding at the 20th-minute mark, and we were witnessing a potentially painful stalemate for the defending champion.

Thankfully, that was the moment of Boniface's magic, as he pounced on Tah's assist to restore the lead, 2-1.

The African striker netted again twenty minutes later, but his second goal was voided after a VAR review. Adli cleared away all the uncertainty near the stoppage time, making it 3-1.
