That's an example of optimism. We'll see how much it has to do with a reality
Former Barcelona and Chelsea striker Samuel Eto'o believes that his home country will reach the World Cup final in Qatar and face Morocco.
Eto'o, now the head of the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT), claims that all five African sides will make it through the group stages of the competition.
In a statement published in Ouest France, Eto stated that Tunisia, Ghana, and Senegal will all make it to the knockout stages of the competition, which begins in under a fortnight.
"Africa has always had the potential to have strong World Cups, but we haven't always shown our best side up to now. Over the course of the past few years, African teams have acquired more and more experience. I think that they are not only capable of participating in this World Cup, but also of winning it," said Eto'o.
